Holding this city in my thoughts and prayers - it means so much to me. May new beginnings bring peace and unity.

DC. I grew up in the shadow of greatness. In the city of power. But that’s to an outsider. To an insider I grew up in a small beautifully diverse city. I ran and played in parks with children of every race and religion. I spent my teenage years in Tenley Town and the uptown theater. I can navigate through the one way streets and know all the metro lines. I love the Capitals, Cactus Cantina and Adams Morgan Day. I am a Washingtonian and I will be no matter where I go. I will always return to my city.

I love this city. Leaving my homeland El Salvador during a civil war. Washington D.C welcomed my family. After 31 years DC is our hometown!
